Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs M Venkaiah Naidu today said that NDA Government headed by Narendra Modi is prepared to give Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker post to the Opposition. Tending to a question and answer session in Bangalore, Naidu hit out at the Congress, saying that it ought not politicize the issue of Leader of Opposition status in Lok Sabha.
The Minister said that the Congress Party was raking up the issue while doing nothing solid on its part, and included that it submitted a letter to the Speaker just day before yesterday. He termed the Congress Party's behavior on the issue of Leader of Opposition as only a habitual pettiness.
Naidu likewise said that there was no Leader of Opposition throughout the residency of the past Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi.
