The Indian women's hockey group beat Canada 4-2 in the opening match of the Commonwealth Games here Thursday.
The match began in high energy with both groups going on the assault promptly. India was honored their first punishment corner in the seventh moment yet were not able to change over. Canada excessively were unsuccessful on their punishment corner in the thirteenth moment.
It was in the 21st moment when India scored through Rani Rampal yet Canada instantly returned when they leveled in the 24th moment through Brienne Stairs.
This did not dissuade the Indians and inside four minutes Poonam Rani scored through an alternate punishment corner to give India a 2-1 lead going into the break.
In the second half, India proceeded with the force and sacked a punishment corner open door promptly. Jaspreet Kaur scored in the 37th moment to give India a 3-1 lead.
Karli Johansen of Canada changed over a punishment corner to decrease the objective edge to 2-3 yet India went on the assault and in the 52nd moment Jaspreet scored again with the last score perusing 4-2's to support India.
India will next tackle New Zealand July 27 at the Glasgow.
