July 8, 2014
The Cinema City International Film Festival was held in Novi Sad in Serbia from 21-28 June 2014.
Set in Pune, Stray Dogs recounts the story of Tony, a worker in the Flex Manufacturing industry whose flexibility is constantly commanded by pecking order. Being smothered by his manager, he can't keep his responsibilities and necessities in his individual life. Continuously he begins performing the part of a controller and needs to see the impact of the same. At last he stands up to the truth of this endless loop, where everyone is trapped inside, including a stray canine.
“Stray Dogs uses a minimalistic and well-aimed dramatic structure to speak of system-imposed relation between the privileged and the oppressed, the mercurial nature of such relations, and discovery of a man outside the dynamics of hierarchy,” the Jury stated.
