In excess of 100 towns in areas like Bhadrak, Jajpur, Keonjhar and Kalahandi have been overwhelmed because of ceaseless precipitation, prompting a rupture of dike along the River Baitarani close Patpur in Odisha.
Notwithstanding, the Indian Meteorological Department in Odisha has said that precipitation in the state will lessen in next two to three days, giving individuals easing from unending storm.
Executive at Meteorological Department, S.c. Sahu, said deficiency precipitation had progressed.
"This rainfall will decrease for next two to three days. Thereafter it may increase but in another two to three days it will decrease. So now the deficit rainfall has improved and is a normal rainfall," said Sahu.
In the interim, exceptional alleviation official, P.k. Mohapatra said there breaks in two locale and authorities were administered to clear villagers.
"The water level peaked up to 40.05 meters which was against danger level of 38.36. But now it is falling. But there have been two to three breaches in Bhadrak and Jaspur districts, where we have asked the collector to evacuate the people. Rest of the Odisha, water level is falling so nothing much to worry about," Mohapatra said.
He additionally included that free kitchens have been opened to give cooked nourishment to emptied villagers.
The state government has requested Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) for undertaking salvage and easing operation.
