Muslims in Bangalore today held a peaceful protest to condemn Israel's attacks on Palestine that does not even spare women and children.
They also criticised the United Nations and America for what they alleged " turning a blind eye" towards the ongoing crisis.
"We
just want to ask the UN to take a stringent action against the terror
which is happening; the cruelty, the massacre that is happening in Gaza
by Israel. I want to ask a question to UN, what is UN doing? What is
America doing? America is called a superpower and when America is called
a superpower, then what is America doing in this case? Why are these
people silent," said state president for Human Rights Council of India,
Mohammad Farman.
International calls for a ceasefire have grown as the death toll has mounted in the worst flare-up of Israeli-Palestinian violence in almost two years, sparked by the murder of three Israeli teenagers and revenge killing of a Palestinian youth.
Meanwhile, protesters are demanding a boycott of Israel and shutdown of the country's embassies and consulates in India.
"We demand that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the President of India and the External Affairs Minister should condemn the Israeli occupation and condemn Israeli operation in the strongest of terms. We also demand that the Israeli embassies and Israeli consulates should be closed," said a protester, Amir Ali Badani.
Israel began air strikes on the coastal strip on July 08, saying it wanted to halt missile fire from Gaza by Hamas militants and launched a ground offensive last Thursday.
The number of Palestinian deaths in the 18 days of conflict has been put at 822, most of them civilians.
