The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is one of two major parties in the Indian political system, along with the Indian National Congress. It is currently India's largest political party in terms of representation in the national parliament and the second largest in the various state assemblies. It has close ideological and organisational links to the Hindu nationalist Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
