DIG (range) Vijay Singh Meena was one of those injured as the irate crowd resorted to brickbatting. Several shops and vehicles were damaged by the angry mob which also blocked the road and set a police vehicle on fire.
According to police, two constables were shot dead by unidentified persons during a chase in the Ramgarh area here.
The incident took place when the constables, identified as Dinesh Pratap Singh and Giriraj Kishore Gujjar, aged between 30 and 32 years, were chasing a group of individuals last night. The duo had learnt of some miscreants fleeing after carrying out a loot and had gone to intervene.
