Ace Indian discus thrower Krishna Poonia warmed up to her defence of Commonwealth Games gold medal as she finished second in a meet in Chicago, United States.
Ace Indian discus thrower Krishna Poonia warmed up to her defence of Commonwealth Games gold medal as she finished second in a meet in Chicago, United States.
Poonia,
who won gold in 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games, came up with a best
effort of 59.17m at the 2014 Chicagoland Throws Series at Benedictine
University. Poonia has a personal best and national record of 64.76 in
her name.
With this effort, Poonia crossed the CWG
qualifying standard of 58.46m set by Athletics Federation of India last
month. 32-year-old Poonia had won gold in 2010 Delhi CWG with an effort
of 61.51m.
The Glasgow CWG begins on July 23 and track and field events begin on July 27.
