An 11-year old Indian boy is a star in a Singapore movie, singing Peking opera tunes and speaking most of his lines in Mandarin.
Eleven-year-old Indian kid Denzyl Dharma is the star of another nearby Mandarin film.
In Wayang Boy, the Primary 5 student at Gan Eng Seng school plays Raja, a kid from India who tries to fit into his new home in Singapore and falters onto a remote work of art - Chinese musical drama.
"The hardest part about Chinese opera is the singing, sometimes I go off-pitch," he says at a press occasion for the film on Tuesday.
He experienced preparing for about three prior months shooting the film this June.
