Entertainment: Hilary Duff returns with a brand new single

The actress and businesswoman, 26, is set to release an album in the coming months, her new record label RCA announced on Wednesday, July 23. She will introduce the project with a single called "Chasing the Sun," due out on Tuesday, July 29, and will perform the song for the first time on Thursday, July 24, at Marquee nightclub in New York City.

"I took a break from music for quite awhile, but it gave me the power to choose my next steps carefully and I'm really proud of the album I've made," Duff said in a release. "'Chasing The Sun' is a light and fun summer song that I hope helps people to feel a little more carefree."
The mother to son Luca, 2, debuted her last studio album of new music, Dignity, in March 2007. The project hit No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and was certified gold.

With her return to music, Duff called her upcoming album a "labor of love" and added in the release, "'Chasing The Sun' is just a peek into my new album. I've worked very hard and the album is a great representation of the experiences I've had in my life and where I want to go from here!"
