Probe Committee met here Sunday and named former India captain Sourav Ganguly
to assist the committee in its investigation into the betting and spot-fixing
scandal in last year's Indian Premier League.
"The Committee held its meeting in Mumbai on 7.6.2014 and 8.6.2014. The Committee considered the names of a few players and decided to appoint Mr. Sourav Ganguly as the player to assist the Committee in its probe," a statement here read.
"Consent was sought from Mr. Ganguly and he has agreed to assist the Committee as per the Hon'ble Supreme Court order dated 16.5.2014," the statement added.
